Texas A&M Spinout Advances Robotic Technology

Congratulations to FluxWorks, a Texas A&M spinout, on securing an Army SBIR Phase II Strategic Breakthrough award. The opportunity provides access to up to $30 million in non-dilutive fund matching, with $3.5 million already under contract, to help ramp production of the company’s Celestial Gear™ technology.
Founded by Bryton Praslicka, Ph.D., FluxWorks develops contactless magnetic gear technology designed to improve the reliability and performance of robotic and automated systems. The technology originated from research conducted at Texas A&M University and has progressed from university innovation to a growing commercial venture.
FluxWorks’ journey also reflects the role of the Texas A&M New Ventures Competition (TNVC) in supporting emerging technology companies. FluxWorks advanced as a TNVC semifinalist and ultimately won the 2022 TNVC grand prize, providing early validation and resources as the company worked to bring its technology to market.
