Janie Hurley oversees the licensing team whose primary focus is to develop commercialization and intellectual property protection strategies for technologies arising from research within The Texas A&M University System. Janie has experience evaluating a wide array of technologies, negotiating license agreements with companies in a variety of industries, and mentoring other licensing professionals within the A&M System for over 26 years. She has specific expertise in the area of protecting and licensing plant varieties and germplasm from Texas A&M plant breeding programs, representing over 25 different crops. Janie received her MBA and B.S. in Biomedical Science both from Texas A&M. Prior to her career in technology transfer, Janie was an assistant supervisor at Texas A&M’s Comparative Medicine Program where she managed various aspects of laboratory animal care and research.
