Shaping Tomorrow's Innovators

InnovationU is an educational series of events presenting informative content to the Texas A&M innovator community aimed at increasing levels of understanding and awareness of innovation and commercialization related topics.

The Texas A&M Innovation team brings in twice a semester internal and external speakers to hold engaging conversations on topics such as patenting and publishing, forming startup companies, commercialization related funding mechanisms, and more. These events include Q&A with audience participants and short networking opportunities.

Join us on February 4, 2025 from 4:30-6:30pm at the Memorial Student Center (MSC) on the College Station campus for a conversation with Texas A&M Innovation’s head of new ventures for The Texas A&M University System, Dr. Samuel Kim, discussing key ingredients for a successful startup company. Dr. Kim will share about his research, business, and investment experiences, lessons learned when starting hard science companies from university technology, and his thoughts on building strong companies based on technologies developed within The Texas A&M University System.
Dr. Kim will be joined by Electroninks CEO, Brett Walker, a Ph.D. student out of the University of Illinois turned entrepreneur, to dive into his startup journey and successes with R&D, corporate collaborations, and government funding to date. The conversation will be followed by Q&A with the panelists and a short networking period when content concludes. Light refreshments will be provided.

This educational session is tailored toward researchers, faculty, staff, and students from The Texas A&M University System.

Virtual: Via live webinar. Instructions for access will be provided via email on the day of the event.
