Texas A&M Innovation works with Humanate Digital to commercialize digital human technology for use in healthcare clinics.

By Ashley Skow, Texas A&M Innovation – December 8, 2023

Humanate Digital has an agreement with The Texas A&M University System for rights to intellectual property developed at Texas A&M that incorporate digital humans into workflow processes at health care clinics, creating a digital workforce technology platform.

The partnership with Texas A&M is the basis for Humanate to commercialize this novel approach, which addresses the significant and ongoing challenge of labor shortages in the healthcare industry, especially in rural areas. Improved patient experience and a reduction in overhead costs are also among the technology’s benefits.

The first of Humanate’s digital workforce members is a clinical concierge avatar named Cassandra, intended to engage with patients during the clinic check-in or check-out process. Cassandra easily communicates with patients by speaking multiple languages and her unique technology integrates visual elements that respond to the user in real time, creating a fluid and personalized user experience. Cassandra also has the ability to securely interface with other clinical systems to access medical records, billing, and compliance processes. The first Cassandra kiosk will be installed at the Texas A&M Health Family Care clinic in Bryan, TX in 2024.
